Michael,
That is a great video by Alan Levine. It is funny, the video means so much more because I was one of those people he visited. The personal connections are powerful and important and I think it is great to meet people (when we can.) This is a tough chapter and we live this every day.

Hi Julie ... I've been learning a lot by attending the bookclub sessions, which is why I keep coming back :)

I really feel that effective, inclusive global projects get the balance right between providing public and private communication spaces. This has been a steep learning curve for me, and is one which we will strive to improve in #globalclassroom in the years to come.

Thanks for the comment! :)

Michael, thanks for being an enthusiastic member of the Flattening Classrooms book club. I am enjoying reading your blog posts and stories of global interactions. It is very important for teachers and students to be safe and participate within a caring environment at all times. Although a lot of what Flat Classroom does is very open and out there we also have systems and strategies in place for more private conversations for both teachers and students. Not everything has to be public as you say.

You are definitely a teacherpreneur. You are doing incredible work! It is not a scary thing but a very empowering experience. Thank you for your reflections. Hope your information was not too overloaded. ;-) Keep on plugging.

That is WHY we are teachers! Because we believe in the power of education for change. Sometimes I wonder about ICT and the globalisation of the world and whether it will actually lead to a better global community... guess time will tell and with a internet full of passionate educators we might have some hope!
